We acquired the shop in Eye from a well established bakery so we were fortunate in having a good loyal customer base which transferred to us. We revamped the shop to become the Tudor Bakehouse and have grown considerably from then on.
Eye is a very old Suffolk town with an across the board selection of shops, tearooms, it's own theatre, castle ruins and a beautiful church. Many of the buildings are very old and historic and painted in true Suffolk style- well worth a visit and a wander round.
At our bakery we have a small preparation area where we bake many savouries including pies, sausage rolls and pizzas and make sandwiches, filled rolls, baked potatoes and soup daily.
Our customers in Eye like to try different products so we often try new things out in Eye to gauge the response.
The shop is also a good place to stop for a chat as many of the staff know many of the local customers.
